Remember to keep your guard up!

Symantec has just released a report detailing the increasing threat to home PC users from attack from the Internet. This is particularly relevant to all WoW players due to the rise in keylogger scams that attempt to steal passwords to players' accounts.

Symantec said 86% of targeted attacks, excluding attacks like viruses that are random in nature, were aimed at consumers in the first six months of 2006. That's down from 93% in the second half of last year but does not indicate an improvement in consumers' risk level because hackers have become better at getting inside machines, Alfred Huger, senior director of engineering for Symantec Security Response, told Dow Jones Newswires.
