Mass Effect 3 will be getting an extended cut to the game’s ending this summer to help clear up some of the things that left many players scratching their head and frustrated at the game’s conclusion.

The new Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut aims to offer more closure to the game’s controversial and confusing ending with extended cutscenes ands epilogue scenes that will offer more context and deeper insight into the Mass Effect 3 conclusion. In a blog post today, BioWare also confirmed that there will be no additional endings, much to the dismay of many fans.

Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?

  • No. BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.

The Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC is slated for release sometime this summer and will be available to players for free until April 14th, 2014. A mini-FAQ is available with more details on the BioWare website.
