Shortly before E3 2015, we had the pleasure of participating in a preview event for Blade & Soul, featuring the first playable North American build for the game. For that particular event, I ended up playing the Summoner class which fit my playstyle perfectly given my natural preference for playing pet classes in MMOs.

For those of you looking to learn more about the Summoner, this week marks Summoner Class Week on the official Blade & Soul website. Along with updates to the main class page for the Summoner, there will also be a pair of live streams later this week worth checking out. On Thursday, October 8th at 4pm PT the official Twitch channel will feature some high-level Summoner play, and then on October 9th at 12pm PT, Blackspace will also be taking the Summoner for a spin.

A detailed preview of the class has also been added, featuring some of the common combos aspiring Summoners will be using in combat. An example combo can be seen below, or you can view the full list over on the official Blade & Soul website: Summoner Class Week

You’ll also want to check out the Summoner Overview video below to see more of the class in action. One thing I personally enjoyed about the class based on my brief hands-on time so far is that it functions like a true pet class, where the pet is a very integral extension of your character. You’ll have some options on your pet’s main combat focus as well, so there is some flexibility to help suit your particular playstyle.

Founder’s Packs are of course still available for Blade & Soul, so be sure to check out the full details on those along with Summoner Week on the official website.
