Earlier today, Blizzard released part two of their animated series, Lords of War. In what I think is a goof of their press release, they linked to the trailer for the teaser, so if you haven't seen that yet, have a look!

Blizzard recently has put out several high quality videos since their cinematic reveal on August 14 (also, the unofficial start of SOE Live). During the cinematic, we got the Warlords of Draenor release date (November 13, one day before the new EverQuest II expansion), and later on, Blizzard released the Collector's Edition details for WoD. Did you miss the cinematic? Watch it again!

So far, community response has been a mix – people seem to love it or hate it. I'm kind of hoping that the person claiming that Blizzard clearly is showing an Alliance bias with this series because it's from that perspective is having a bit of a weak troll here, because I refuse to believe that this is actual criticism. Then again, this is the internet, so you never really know if someone's having some fun or just making a poor rage attempt. I think claiming bias is a distraction from what's really going on.

[Warning: slight spoilers here and beyond] In Part One, we get Kargath's background story set upon a mix of animation styles. The beginning is traditional CGI animation that looks like an updated World of Warcraft, while the second half is less animated and focuses more on a raw sketch type of art style. I cringe every time his nail breaks. Ew. Likely, this is distracting me from the point: Kargath breaking free of his chains. In the end, we see the Shattered Hand's start.

Are you all caught up and ready for Part Two? Do you know what it means to be Warsong? The tale of Grommash again is a mix of the two different art styles. The CGI heavy one is from the perspective of the king, while the sketchy scenes are the tales outside of his perspective. While I understand where they're going with this, I find the back and forth a little distracting and wish they would have gone with one art style. Personally, I'm drawn to the rough beauty of the sketchy stills. If you're ready for the next part of the story, here ya go:

How do you feel about the story so far? Is it getting you amped up for Warlords of Draenor? Is it just creating more questions? Why is Anduin such a wuss in the face of his ancestry? Do you think Blizzard should do more animated lore series or is this a waste of resources? Tell us all about your thoughts in the comments below!
