Gamepolitics has put together two interesting statistics that seem to go together like lamb and mint jelly. According to the FBI's Uniform Crime Report which is the standard for reporting across the United States, violent crime fell 3.5% in the first half of 2008. Likewise according to the marketing research firm NPD Group, videogame sales skyrocketed during the same period. Coincidence? Perhaps instead of stealing cars, people preferred to grind out their World of Warcraft characters.
