The official launch of Marvel Heroes is less than a month away and this week father of the Diablo series and Gazillion COO & President David Brevik posted his first “State of the Game” update for the game as the final open beta event readies for kickoff later today. As you might expect at this point, it is crunch time in the studio and Brevik even teased that his beard has grown to a frightening level, but on to the game.

Early access for Marvel Heroes Ultimate Pack customers will begin on May 28th with normal access for other players starting on June 4th. Brevik touched on some of the content being polished for launch such as the endgame activities, PvE, PvP, and Ultimate Powers, which players can earn for the heroes and power up with drops. While the devs didn’t get everything that they wanted in for launch, Brevik does promise more content coming post-launch.

“Of course as with any big game, especially an MMO, you don’t always get everything you want by launch. Our dreams and plans are much bigger than we have time to create. This can be good though. The beauty of an MMO is that launch is just the beginning.”

The final open beta event for Marvel Heroes starts later today. Head over to the Marvel Heroes website to sign up and download the client if you want to give it a try before its June 4th launch.
