The two most competitive PvP modes in Destiny will be making their year 2 debut in a couple of weeks. The Iron Banner, which is the exact same as regular crucible but weapon stats and levels matter, makes it's return October 13th with several changes to it's function and reward rates.

The damage and armor curve has now been updated to account for the year 2 stats and levels. Drop rates have also been increased and now include the gear that you can also buy from Lord Saladin. You can still purchase it directly from the Iron Banner Lord, but you will have to spend Legendary Marks instead of glimmer.

Trials of Osiris will be back on the 16th and now has a recommended minimum light level of 290, so you better get geared if you want to stand a chance. Like the Iron Banner, trials rewards will now be primarily from drops at the end of each match. Keep winning matches and the quality of the rewards you receive will increase.

You can get all the details of the upcoming PvP changes in the latest Destiny Blog Post.
