While the fact that the Major tournaments would exist was first announced in April, not a lot was known about when or where they would be happening. With this announcement we now know that the first Dota 2 Major will be held in Frankfurt Germany, and will take place from November 16th to the 21st.

Matches will be open to the public except for the final which requires purchase of a 50€ ticket.

A total of 16 teams will be fighting over the prize pool which is a healthy $3,000,000. No team lists have been officially released as of yet, but they will reportedly be revealed on October 5th, 5 days before the Regional Qualifiers for the Major that run from the 10th to the 13th.

The fall event is the first of three new events that will fill the gap in official Dota 2 competitive play right up until the International event each year. You can find more information, including how to purchase a ticket for the finals, on the offical announcement post.
