CCP was once again hit with a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack over the weekend that resulted in downtime for EVE Online and DUST 514 players while the vulnerability was addressed. Through the vulnerability, a person was able to execute the attack and interrupt service for the two connected games. CCP has since patched the vulnerability and brought Tranquility server back online and posted an update with more details about what transpired. In case you were worried, CCP also confirmed that at no time were user details accessible or compromised. Simply put, the worst thing that happened is that there was a bit of extended downtime.

CCP will also be looking at ways to compensate players for the downtime.
