Last week Goonswarm led a massive effort to set Jita ablaze in EVE Online, and they succeeded. This week CCP has posted a new developer blog reflecting on the event and the chaos created by player freedom in the space sandbox. And by chaos I mean they absolutely loved it.

The new blog offers up some metrics from the event and a colorful “kill” heatmap image of the giant fireball in space that players managed to create by firing countless rounds of ammunition on EVE’s trade hub and ships unfortunate enough to get caught in the crosshairs.

The Mittani discussed the event in this week’s Sins of a Solar Spymaster. Be sure to give it a read for more details about the burning of Jita and what it could mean for EVE.
