One of the few console MMORPGs running is sunsetting at the end of March as Sony Online Entertainment bids farewell to EverQuest Online Adventures (EQOA) for the PlayStation 2 console. The announcement came to the EQOA website today stating that the game will officially come to a close on March 29th, 2012. No reason was given for the cancellation, but SOE also noted in the post that three other titles in their SOE services library will also be getting cut with Cosmic Rift, Infantry Online and Star Chamber: The Harbinger Saga.

As a reward to loyal players of the game, SOE will be granting 3 months of Gold Memberships to both EverQuest and EverQuest II. The new Gold Memberships will be available to players starting March 16th. Maybe this offer can help find the soon to be displaced community a new home.
