Yesterday evening ArenaNet released a new blog post detailing Guild Wars 2's Living World story and how it has played out. In only five paragraphs Scott McGough has managed to just about cover all based (I'm genuinly impressed) and in the process, invited players who haven't yet experienced the Living World story or bought Guild Wars 2 to become interested.

No one knows exactly what the sylvari Scarlet Briar had in mind when she unleashed The Breachmaker on Lion’s Arch—and given the fractured state of her psyche and that not all of her thoughts were her own, she may not have known, herself. Everyone saw the result, however—a city in ruins and a jolt of high-energy magic surging across the globe to rouse the Elder Dragon Mordremoth deep in the Maguuma Jungle.

I'd actually really like to see a much improved story system in the game that presented what you've done and what story you've experienced in a much better way. While the current Living World log is fine but it doesn't really provide for a comprehensive look over what you've accomplished or what each character has done or said. To do this you'd have to replay every single Living World episode which is time consuming and eventually, repetative. I'd definitely recommend that you read this blog post by Scott, even if you haven't yet purchased Guild Wars 2. It might just be the encouragement you need to join and play the story.
