Landmark Live

This week's Landmark Live should be the most interesting one to date. The sandbox building MMO is receiving its largest make-over thus far as it not only gets a few new features this update - but also will undergo some extreme revisions, including the new worlds and biomes promised in accordance with the game's only planned full-character wipe.

I've been highly critical of Landmark's open-development over the past couple of weeks, especially after my interview with Daybreak Games (formerly SOE) President John Smedley on Monday... but that doesn't mean I'm not still interested. With all this game has planned and aspires to be, I believe I'll always be keeping an eye on it; particularly with it being the doorway to realizing EverQuest Next.

So rest assured that I will be tuning in for today's update-preview on Landmark Live - episode #46 happening on the game's official Twitch channel. The episode is set to air at 11AM Pacific - which is just several short hours away. The team has already written out in comprehensive detail most of the major (and minor) changes and additions coming to the game with this latest client update. So if you haven't read those notes, you should definitely check them out.

Having spent the last few days with the servers down, Daybreak should be getting very close to firing the game back up in all its new glory shortly after Landmark Live. It is possible that the downtime could extend further into the weekend - but I expect the team will do everything possible to get Landmark running again, as they too want to enjoy a weekend of fun! I'm looking forward to seeing what else the game has to offer, and will be jumping in myself as soon as I am able.
