Hunker down for the holidays folks. If you manage to get your viewing of The Hobbit in sometime this week, Turbine will be giving you a little more Tolkien-based content to devour as The Lord of the Rings Onlines Update 9: Against the Shadow makes its way to live servers on Monday, December 17th.
The news comes by way of a post from Community Manager Rick Sapience Heath, who revealed the expected release date barring any unfortunate mishaps along with some changes to a once rather pricey (around 50 bucks pricey to be exact) Hobby Horse that will soon be making its way to the Turbine Store for the new cost of 995 Turbine Points once a few graphical issues are resolved.
Update 9 is currently expected to release on Monday, December 17th. The Hobby Horse was originally intended to release in the LOTRO store at the same time with an anticipated price of 995 Turbine Points. However, thanks to some very observant testers, we've discovered some graphical issues with the hobby horse that can cause it to behave in very...interesting...ways when certain systems are used in tandem. For example playing an instrument while mounted on the Hobby Horse."
"As a result of these issues with the Hobby Horse it will not be released into the store until they are resolved in a future update. Please note, that this item is also part of the Yule festival and does exist in the festival loot tables. Those Hobby Horses will exhibit the same graphical issues reported by players. These items will also be fixed in the same future update.
A new developer diary has also been released that reveals more about the upcoming revamp to Moria. Check it out and give our hands-on play session with the devs a look to learn more about LOTROs latest update.
