Perfect World Entertainment broke the news on the Neverwinter Facebook page today that the game will be heading into beta, adding Neverwinter to the short list of high-profile games to announce beta this month. (The Elder Scrolls Online announced last week.)

The first of three beta weekend events will kick off in February. Fans who purchase the top two tiers of the Neverwinter Founder's Pack are guaranteed beta access, which means you'll be spending either $59.99 or $199.99. The $59.99 Guardian of Neverwinter Pack grants you access to all three beta weekends, a three-day head start into open beta, and some nifty in-game items including a mount and a direwolf companion. The $199.99 Hero of the North Founders Pack is for the hardcore Dark Elf lover. It provides a five-day head start into open beta, a beta weekend friends invite code (pro-tip: hunt down your rich friends and snag an invite!), and the exclusive playable Menzoberranzan Renegade race, complete with unique racial abilities, a panther companion, and a spider mount.

Founders Packs will be on sale on the Neverwinter official site starting tomorrow.
