2011 could probably be best remembered as the year that hackers bent over the gaming industry and proceeded to compromise their user details. While it’s not clear if 2012 will see the same kind of hacking spree as last year, EA has already taken a shot to kick off January.

In a recent post to EA’s UK forums, an EA representative explained that the forums were defaced by an intruder using an exploit in the forum software. Following the discovery, the EA UK forums were taken offline to fix the vulnerability. Luckily, unlike the extremely long list of others from last year, no user details appear to have been compromised.
