Otherland Gamigo's action MMO based on the bestselling novels, will kick off its first beta weekend on August 31st.

According to Otherland's Product Manager, Florian Hörpel, "A small, manageable number of accounts" will be granted access to the servers for the first closed-beta weekend. Those chosen for the first beta test will be contacted through the email address they provided at registration.

In the meantime, development is progressing. The team recently presented a new simulation, called Five Isle, based on the five Chinese elements.
