NBC Universal's SyFy network and Trion World are about to try something new with an MMOG. Thanks to funding from NBCUs and GE Capitals Peacock Equity fund, the two will be developing a new online game with a new television show that will be dependent on each other. The current working title for the project is One Earth and is aimed at bringing the viewers into the game and vice-versa by allowing both the show and the game to evolve at the same time.
If the team can pull off the successful unification of a television show with an MMOG, allowing both to evolve and influence each other as they are hoping to do, the project could take online gaming to a new and interesting level.
