The War Z hasn’t particularly had the grandest of stays since its release last year. After launching on Steam back in December, the game was promptly flamed by the community and taken down from the platform after it was discovered that many of the features listed on on its Steam game page were not in the game as of yet, prompting many players to cry foul and false advertisement. After removing the game from their buyable list, Steam apologized to players and even did something that they don’t often do by offering a refund to unhappy players.

After a DDoS attack, a database breach, a few disastrous community interactions made worse by problematic interviews, some fairly poor opinions and reviews, and just a truckload of other things, The War Z managed to stagger back on to Steam to achieve some stability and has remained fairly low-key as of late. But today another hammer struck Hammerpoint as the developer changed the name of The War Z to resolve a trademark issues, presumably with World War Z, which may be why the new name of the game, Infestation: Survivor Stories, sounds like a pseudonym for the World War Z book and upcoming movie, which the book funny enough is about survivor stories in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse.

In any case, if you’re searching for The War Z this week, you’ll find it under the name of Infestation: Survivor Stories. The new name also comes with a new update and you can check out the changes here.
