ALT1 Games Announces Troy Closed Beta a Success
ALT1 Games closed their closed beta test for Troy late Friday evening and has since announced it to be a successful test. Troy is ALT1 Games newest project, a player combat-based massive multiplayer role-playing game (MMORPG) set in a fantasy universe based heavily on the Trojan War mythos. The test ran from Friday, May 13th and was originally intended to shut down on Wednesday the 18th, but due to the overwhelming popularity of the test and the contributions of the players, was extended till Friday the 20th. The extra time allowed the developers and support team to gather more technical details from both the players and the servers.
The test boasted a very impressive international audience. Players played over an hour in an average playing session, examining and critiquing content. The game featured users playing at all hours, as well.
ALT1 Games will now evaluate both the technical data from their servers and the opinions and contributions from their players and use that data to improve the game. The game will run a second closed beta test sometime in July, followed by an open beta test in August. ALT1 Games is looking to release the commercial version of Troy sometime in the month.
