Valve recently added free-to-play gaming support to their Steam platform, but it appears that the developer is now working on a free-to-play game of its own according to a new report. Game Informer picked up on an interesting bit of news from French site Barre De Vie, who recently interviewed Valve Vice President of Marketing Doug Lombardi. According to the report, Lombardi simply responded with a cryptic, "Yes" when he was asked if Valve was working on its own free-to-play project.

Given the success of Riot Games's League of Legends, some speculation puts the free-to-play title as Valve's current project in development, Dota 2, which is scheduled to release later this year. But Valve has yet to confirm a pricing model for that game, so it could be something else all together. Stay tuned and we'll update you when we have more details about what exactly Valve is up to.
