Virtrium LLC announced today that they've completed their purchase of game assets from Tulga Games, which of course includes the MMOG Horizons. Keep an eye in the coming weeks to see what they plan to do with the game, which was heavily criticized when released, and read about the details in their press release:

September 13, 2007 PHOENIX, Arizona – Virtrium LLC, developers of
online game technologies and products, announced today that it has
completed an agreement with Tulga Games, LLC., in which Virtrium has
purchased the assets of Tulga Games. As part of the purchase
agreement, Virtrium will continue to support and develop the
subscription based MMO Horizons.

Tulga Games' Managing Member, David Bowman, said, "Virtirum has made a
very exciting offer to purchase the assets of Tulga Games. This offer
presents an opportunity for Horizons to see a progressive future with
updates to the game world and content expansions, as well as
refinements to the technology. Virtrium has the necessary experience
to make this happen in a very successful way. We're pleased to accept
Virtrium's offer and know that it will provide a fresh future for the
players of Horizons."

Virtrium's CEO, Rick Simmons, said, "We see a lot of value in Horizons
and know that our expertise and passion will allow Horizons to grow
and expand. Horizons is truly a unique game in the MMO market and
appeals to a dedicated audience. Only Horizons offers the ability to
soar as a Dragon and the construction system, whether used to create a
customized underground lair or player owned town, is unique.". When
asked about plans for expanding Horizons, Mr. Simmons replied,
"Virtrium is very committed to Horizons and we see a successful future
in continuing the unique experiences that appeal to our loyal player
base, with development moving forward to meet their discerning
expectations for original content. At the same time, we will continue
to keep a close eye on reducing barriers to entry and broadening the
starting experience for new customers. Horizons contains a world that
is living and breathing - it's about crafting magical potions, meeting
your friends in player built communities or having friends over to
explore your custom built Dragon lair." Regarding the future of
Horizons, Mr. Simmons said, "Virtrium believes in the longevity and
endurance of Horizons. We're here for our customers and everyone
involved is dedicated to seeing Horizons grow into the future. We're
all very excited and proud to continue the game world for the players
of Horizons."
