My first thought at seeing this news is the fact that 6.1 seems to have taken so long to push onto the Test Servers that I thought it'd been released months ago. Admitedly the list of patch notes is enormous and for me to disect all of it would probably see patch 7.1 released. The biggie has to be the new Blood Elf models that are finally being released. While it's good to see my favourite race getting a makeover, I can't fathom why it has taken this bloody long to do. Sure the models look great now, but we're talking about a few faces and hair styles, produced by one of the richest companies on the planet. Why it wasn't in Warlords of Draenor is beyond me and it's a little rediculous to even look forward to something that should have been in the game years ago.

The main additions besides Blood Elf improvements include Twitter integration, a new Heirloom Collections Tab, tons of improvements to Garrisons and significant changes to class balance. I find the Twitter integration particularly interesting because Warhammer Online offered something similar from launch but people rarely used it.

  • Characters can now send Tweets for items, achievements, and screenshots from within the game client using the /share command.
  • This feature can be enabled by accessing a new social settings pane to add or remove a Twitter account.

Perhaps it's because I'm not heavily invested in World of Warcraft any more, but who honestly cares if someones obtained a new item or a certain achievement? Unless the item or achievement is of such rarity that it's a world first, it's just going to be a stream of irrelevant noise. Combined with the S.E.L.F.I.E Camera, I just want to die. Check out our more indepth analysis of the notes here, or the full patch notes here.
