Turbine is very pleased to announce that we will be running a special Preview of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE: Stormreach in conjunction with IGN and FilePlanet!

This Preview is open to players in North America who are registered Fileplanet users (a paid FilePlanet subscription is NOT required). Only U.S. residents age 18 and over are eligible to win prizes.

Beginning today, January 13, all registered FilePlanet users in North America can sign-up for the chance to access the DDO Preview, which will run from Thursday, January 19 through Saturday, January 21. Preview access will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis until the allotted Preview registration keys have been distributed by FilePlanet. If you are not currently a registered FilePlanet user, you can visit FilePlanet right now to create an account and then sign up for the DDO Preview.

You can now activate your preorder bonus key. Doing this will create a game account that you will be able to use once the headstart begins in late February and allow you to obtain the +1AC amulet. Again, the amulet will become available once the headstart begins. This account can then be upgraded once you get the retail copy of the game which will allow you to continue using the account once the game officially goes live.

OGaming: The trick to building an awesome sci-fi shooter title versus fantasy or RPG game is…?

Kijong Kang: Creating a sci-fi world that draws on reality. We are focusing on a ‘near future’ concept to make the Huxley world somewhat familiar and relatable to reality. Weapons and vehicles that show up in-game will have realistic mechanisms that could possibly exist in the real world. We are striving to immerse players into a game environment that feels familiar… almost like they are fighting on a real battleground.

Of course, we will provide strong action along with dazzling special effects. This will bring in the sci-fi FPS element. We’re doing a lot to create a unique game that at the same time will feel familiar to FPS players.

Ah I remember back in the good old days when you'd just feel happy whacking at the stray Orc.
