  • Looks like character transfer is the phrase of the day. If you want to move to Rexxar and you're on Suramar, Draenor, Feathermoon, or Windrunner, you need to get busy. The transfer will end on Thursday, February 16. That's tomorrow.

Click here to transfer your character.

Now, I'm happy for all of the people who get to transfer their characters to new realms to alleviate all of that clogging. However, I'd be extra happy if Blizzard could get off their duffs and fix the lag problem on Sen'jin which is a new server. It was unplayable last night and nobody wants to pay for a game that horks you off because you can't play it.

  • Well we reported that Smiling Gator had run out of funds and was ceasing development . However, (Isn't there always a however?) RPG Vault is running a story that is announcing that Game is BACK ON!

The net result is that, After the Fall of Twilight War, there is now a plan for its resurrection. We are very pleased to announce that Smiling Gator has concluded an agreement to license the Twilight War concept and sub-license Valve's Source engine to a new partner company, General Computers, to fund and continue development on our behalf.

  • In our first Tit for Tat, Shayalyn and Ethec debate why men play female avatars in games. What is Tit for Tat you ask? Well it's a debate between our staffers. Or you could call it a debate between the sexes. You'll get a female and a male opinion in every article in this series.

In my EverQuest guild there was a beautiful high elf cleric named Insite. She was a kind, generous soul; always willing to lend a resurrection when a guild member met an untimely death. She also had a razor sharp wit, and a way with obscure references. We all loved her. Dwarves frequently humped her leg, but she was as cold as stone toward their advances, or any other man’s advances, for that matter.

But I knew a secret about Insite that few others did--the person playing her was named Richard. (You have to take the common nickname for Richard and apply it here to fully grasp the irony.) Richard was a roleplayer, and a damn good one. He was also responsible. He didn’t respond to flirting, and he never led anyone to believe he was a woman in real life; he simply stepped into the role of a lady cleric each time he logged her on, and let his true gender remain a mystery to most.

  • There's a new producer letter up for Star Wars Galaxies.

Going forward, our overall goal this year is to continue to improve our game by focusing on adding content that offers players the best interactive entertainment experience available online today. We are lucky as we already have the greatest entertainment brand to build content around – Star Wars .

Mmhmm that was all well and good before they changed the game. Now it's just like any other EQ clone. *big sigh*

  • Online Weddings - we've all heard of them. Have you ever seen one in person, though? Perhaps not? Well, Merriandra over at Ten Ton Hammer Vanguard has! She has the rare experience of both participating in her own and officiating at other online weddings in her days as a Guide in EQLive:

Over the next two years, I stood on top of an aviak tower, in Felwithe, inside Kedge Keep, in the middle of Lake Rathe, in the Arena, in the Plane of Hate, in the Plane of Air, on the bridge between the Karanas (the bride kept zoning) and in Highkeep to perform wedding ceremonies. Perhaps two thirds of the couples chose an approach that more closely resembled "till levels do us part", rather than "tell death do us part." One beautiful, formal, and very serious wedding was held in Felwithe, and everything was perfect, until one of a groomsman cast a hostile spell on a guard (by accident!), a slip of the finger that wiped out the entire wedding party. The poor bride was in tears.

I had begun to believe that this game was nothing more than a myth since the official webpage rarely got updated. Looks like I was wrong. Color me red.

  • Ok this one time in EQ we were storming the Plane of Sky...

Sound familiar? Looks like they're bringing back Sky. If I still played the game I'd be ecstatic. If I still played hah!

It was a fun zone. However, this time it's supposedly bigger, badder and filled with more monsters. GameCloud interviews Ryan Schwayder about this new expansion

Gamecloud - First, how did the idea for the Kingdom of Sky expansion come about?

Ryan "Blackguard" Shwayder - We'd been planning this expansion for some time, planting seeds of the story throughout the base game and Desert of Flames, as well as in the back-story for EverQuest II. With the collapse of some of the planes in the absence of the gods, the effects of such an occurrence would be felt throughout Norrath.

  • Misha is back with a report on the ups and downs of the Pirates of the Burning Sea Beta Test.

The beta testers know that most of the available missions have changed since the build they have, the navigation zone has changed dramatically, and some of the UI has changed. That leaves them not a huge number of things to test except various PvP lineups. Which they did...

"It was a very good fight, If Mojo had just stayed in range 4 seconds longer on that initial encounter I would have sunk him and I believe I could have taken the other two. It was the constant bombardment of 3 ships rolling in and out that kept me completely on defense. That and I forgot to buy [repair consumables].

You can read the entire log here on the official website.
