    The official site for City of Heroes has been updated with news about their holidy event plans...

    Winter is blowing in across the bay to Paragon City, and settling on the Rogue Isles like an icy blanket. New presents and threats await both heroes and villains this holiday season.

    By simply logging in and visiting Paragon City or the Rogue Isles between December 14th and January 2nd*, your character will receive the Cold Front badge and a Fuzzy Earmuffs costume piece, so you can look stylish and keep warm while patrolling the streets (or committing nefarious deeds!).

  • Exploring Middle-earth: Stock

    The official site for Lord of the Rings Online has been updated with another in their series, Exploring Middle-earth.

    Located in the Eastfarthing of the Shire, the village of Stock can be found in a region of swampy, yet fertile, farmland known as the Marish near the convergence of the Stockbrook and Brandywine rivers. Relatively large for a Hobbit village, dwellings in Stock are a bit unusual; many of those who dwell in this region prefer above-ground houses to the traditional Hobbit-holes.

    This past week, Multiverse announced that they had obtained the rights from FOX to produce an MMORPG based on the Firefly, a sci-fi show with a tremendous cult-following.   • Interplay Plans $75 million Fallout MMO

    Gamasutra is reporting today that according to Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings Interplay has some grand plans brewing...

    The budget for the game, first announced in 2004 but with no apparent progress in the years since, is put at $75 million, which will apparently be funded by Interplay and unnamed development and distribution partners. The large budget, even by online standards, is split between $5 million for pre-production, $40 million for production and $30 million for launch costs.
