  • World of Warcraft is officially the genre's 24K lb. elephant...

Citing MMOGchart.com figures, Ars Technica has done a little math and declared that WoW officially has more than 50% market share. Statistically, more than half of you have WoW accounts. Creepy.

The big surprise, however, was Blizzard's World of Warcraft, released in 2004. It quickly surpassed all its rivals in subscriptions, passing the six million mark in February of this year. Now, according to the web site MMOGCHART.com, it has hit a new milestone by moving past the 50 percent mark for market share of massively multiplayer online games.

  • Is that kind of like a bad rash?

With our next major content patch, Shadow of the Necropolis, players will have access to the new high-level raid dungeon Naxxramas, the seat of Kel'Thuzad, one of the most feared enemies the world of Warcraft has ever known. Horrors of the past and new terrors yet to be unleashed are converging inside the necropolis as the Lich King's servants prepare their assault. Soon, the Scourge will march again...

You can find out more details here.

  • The next IRL for Saga of Ryzom is coming up. They want to know where you want to have it.

Well it's getting close to that time again folks, the next IRL is going to happen and we want to get some idea of where you'd like to go for it. After all, it's your meet so you should get a say in where it is held.
The last two have been held in The Old Star in London (transport links to London are very good, plenty of cheap hotels if people want to stay over and apparently there are one or two things to see and do in the city if you arrive early) so if you'd prefer we can do that again. Or we can find another venue in the city, or even choose a different city altogether.

Bear in mind if you want to choose a different city it would be a good idea to make it one with good links so people don't struggle to get there. So feel free to give us your views so we can decide on the best place between us all to meet up, exchange war stories and quite possibly explore the contents of the bar.

Um.. I wouldn't mind hitting London in a storm of Gamer wonder. You can leave your comments right here.

  • Simutronics introduces Lorstra, a deity outside the trinity of Nature, Magic and Gear, whose agenda is reconciliation

Rakshaal are not native to the world of Elanthia. Rather, they come from Eisa, the Plane of Darkness. Before the Sundering, they arrived only as summoned servants of the Arcanum. Accountings describe them as handsome, with solid-colored eyes and leathery skin. However, those that visit now come on their own, and are twisted into monsters in transit. Among the three most familiar types, both the Vaklash and Gorrog possess supernatural powers, and enough intelligence to act as war-animals or independently, while the clever Ilorax are natural leaders that love battle, preferring to lead from the front, not the back.
