  • Just when you got used to paying the old price, they change it on you. Oddly enough, I've always thought that it was $24.99. So.. I guess it's not bad news for me?

Due to the increased costs of operating the game service for the games included in the Station Access subscription package, we will be increasing our subscription rates in June. Effective June 1, 2006, the new monthly subscription rate will be $24.99/month. While this announcement may be unpleasant, we have added several games to the Station Access subscription package and the cost of operating the game service for the games included in the Station Access subscription package has increased significantly since we launched Station Access. This change will help us achieve our goal of seeing that every player has a consistently enjoyable experience in our game worlds. You don't have to do a thing; you will automatically be migrated to the new billing structure under your current subscription plan when your current subscription plan expires. Subscription rates are subject to tax and value-added taxes, as applicable.

New Station Access™ subscription rate as of June 1, 2006:
    # $24.99 per Month

Station Access subscriptions are recurring, meaning you will continue to be billed at the appropriate interval, until you affirmatively cancel your subscription.
Subscriptions are subject to tax and value-added tax, as applicable.

Please note: The subscription charges are in addition to the cost of the games that are part of the Station Access subscription package. All game software is sold separately.

Laugh your a- uh.. buns off over at our EverQuest 2 Community.

  • New Stories = More Content. DND fans rejoice!

WESTWOOD, MA - May 1, 2006 - Turbine, Inc. announced today that Keith Baker, the original creator of the DUNGEONS & DRAGONS® Eberron® campaign setting, will pen additional storylines and works of fiction for DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE™: Stormreach™ (DDO). The game is the first massively multiplayer online (MMO) roleplaying game based upon the iconic world of D&D®. DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE: Stormreach, developed by Turbine and published by Atari, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATAR), launched in North America on February 28th and quickly became one of the fastest growing MMOs in North America. The property is under license from the Hasbro Properties Group, the intellectual property development arm of Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS).

"Keith Baker is the creative genius behind Eberron, the setting for DDO. His fiction is sure to engage and entertain our players in the months to come," said Jeffrey Anderson, president and CEO of Turbine, Inc. "We are delighted to be working with him."

A longtime fantasy devotee and game designer, Keith Baker's breakthrough occurred when he entered a contest in 2002 held by Wizards of the Coast, maker of the DUNGEONS & DRAGONS roleplaying game and a subsidiary of Hasbro. The contest sought an innovative concept for a new world in which fans could play DUNGEONS & DRAGONS. Chosen from more than 11,000 submissions, Baker's Eberron world won the contest and became Wizards of the Coast's setting for the third edition of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, as well as the setting for DDO. Baker also published his first novel, City of Towers, which released in February 2005, to critical acclaim.

  • Give that ATM machine a taste of pwnage

Entropia Universe, the futuristic-style MMO which pits players against each other to compete for real-world money, will now offer ATM cards for easy, convenient conversion of virtual PEDs to cold, hard cash.

An Entropia Universe participant can acquire the ATM card from MindArk, the developer of Entropia Universe. The card is associated with the participants' Entropia Universe account (similar to a bank account), allowing one to efficiently and securely access funds to make a withdrawal of virtual money (Project Entropia Dollars) in real life currency using any Versatel machine around the world. All of the features of transferring, withdrawing, depositing, viewing account balances and more are available with this virtual ATM system. This innovative service for Entropia Universe members provides true economic freedom and puts them one step closer to bridging the gap between the virtual and real world.

  • Next Gen Previews E3 SOE Lineup

Of SOE's MMO entries for this year's E3, Roman-themed Gods and Heroes was a given. Two relative surprises, however, are 2 - count 'em, 2 - new expansions for EverQuest II: the adventure pack "The Fallen Dynasty" and the fullscale expansion hearkening back to the original EverQuest continent of Faydwer: "Echoes of Faydwer".

t’s not all about the upper levels, though – Echoes of Faydwer is the next full-fledged expansion pack for EverQuest II and for a change, it features new content for all players regardless of level. There’re twenty new zones, forty new creatures, 350 quests, and a new playable race, the Fae. There’re new options for housing, new items to collect, more skills to learn – everything a good expansion pack needs to survive in this workaday world, but now it’s for everyone to enjoy right off the bat. It’s a nice way to entice new players, and with new places like castles rife with vampires and neat arboreal cities, there’s plenty for more these players to see.

Check out SOE's full E3 lineup at NextGen. And for more SOE goodness, be sure to stop by our EQ2 - TenTonHammer community site.

  • Warhammer Alliances has an Orc Preview for all of you hardcore Warhammer addicts out there.

With their tough green hides, vicious tusks and belligerent attitude, Orcs are perfectly suited to doing that which they do best - fighting. Orcs go out of their way to find a good fight, and they are happiest when engaging in a proper bit of mindless slaughter and carnage. In this they are frequently aided by the Goblins, who tend to be just as violent but in a sneakier, nastier fashion.

  • There is a new preview to be had on this stellar title from Flagship Studios. Get a peek at the cabalist class and more with this write up from IGN.

We've seen Hellgate: London more than once at this point. We've seen the heavily armored Templar character class in the past but at Namco's pre-E3 event, we finally peeped the recently announced Cabalist class. Where Templars are hard-core combatant defenders of the future, cabalists see the demons and the Hellgate as a opportunity for the evolution of mankind.

*cough* using E3's name in vain *cough*
