Spacetime Studios™, composed of a core team with previous leadership roles on successful franchises such as Privateer, Wing Commander and Star Wars Galaxies, will publish its next game under the NCsoft brand.

They’ve also been successful in developing massively multiplayer games and we believe that’s a winning combination and a perfect fit for the NCsoft lineup of products.”

Last week Kytel worked hard to prepare for the expedition. Since the new Shard had never been explored before, he had crafted some protection potions to bring along. Now, he finds himself on board the Shardship 'The Shadow Moon', tensions growing as the mysterious Carnyx Shard slides into view around a corner of the Deadspell Storm.

  • Boomjack touched on this in his Loading... this morning. I wanted to throw my own two cents in because.. well if you know me, you know I'm extremely opinionated. The problem?

The Chinese userbase reports widespread delays of over an hour when logging into the game and getting a server list, and the last straw seems to have been complete server outages that disrupted the endgame of a large-scale raid involving nearly 1,000 players.

Ok now, let's talk about how this would affect world relations, game economy and my general state of panic.

    1. Does Blizzard realize that it's not a good thing to piss China off? Can we say one billion angry people with nuclear weapons? C'mon, we're already on spongey turf with them as it is.

    2. Dare I say it? Gold farming cut in half? The economy is in dire straights!

In all seriousness, Blizzard does have new hardware in the works so we need to be patient. On the other hand, I can understand their angst. I sat in a mere five minute queue last night trying to get into Sen'jin and nearly lost my mind. What is going on in the minds of the Blizzard execs? Who can say? We can't get anyone to comment on the issues.

  • Just read this on GameCloud Bigfoot Networks is developing the next best thing.

Soon, online gamers will have a new option for fighting the Lag and Latency problems that plague online games. Bigfoot Networks is developing technology that will give online gaming a much needed boost. Online twitch gamers will appreciate better pings, and Massively Multiplayer Online Gamers will notice less Lag such as no more rubber-banding, no more warping, no more ‘freezing’. The days of Slash-Slash-Pause are over, your games will run “Faster than Life”™.

Do my eyes deceive me? Is this a pipe dream? No lag in games? Bwahahahaahahaha!

I'll believe it when I see it in action my friends. I've lived with lag for so long that it's inconceivable that it would vanish.

  • Dusktreaders, haven't heard of it? That's ok because you're going to get a good idea of what it's about with this interview. Walking completely away from the general MMO path, Granite Games has created something original and just a little scary.

You have a gothic world revolving around vampires and werewolves. Is there a possibility that at some point the players will be "turned"?

Actually, yes. Although, not permanently and you lose control of yourself while either a vampire or werewolf. Players facing down such foes as vampires or werewolves who are unfortunate enough to be bitten may be temporarily turned into a vampire or werewolf. They are cured if the one who bit them is destroyed or if that player is killed. If bitten, you have about 30 seconds to drink an antidote. Alchemists can make antidotes, if you bring the right ingredients.

You cannot be a free-willed vampire or werewolf.

  • New Dev Blog at the Gods and Heroes Official Forums. Normally it's done by Deodatus. However it's been hijacked!

Deo was kind enough to let me hijack his blog this week so I could comment on all that has gone on this week. First of we launched our new website which was a long time coming, and somewhat overdue. This was a huge undertaking by the team and it turned out even better than I was expecting. Over the next few weeks and months we will continue to add new content as we move toward beta and launch. Next I want to say how excited I am to have Sony Platform Publishing as our Co-Publisher. For me this goes beyond what they can do from a Marketing and PR perspective but I also get the opportunity to work with old friends from Origin in Austin ( our new Marketing Director was on Ultima Online for many years ).

Are you as excited for this one as I am?
