Xbox Reveal Event Coverage

Anarchy Online Goes Cost-Free

Anarchy Has Its Benefits...
In a bid to attract new gamers in the wake of the release of the Lost Eden expansion, Funcom has announced that anyone can play the base client of Anarchy Online for free (no game purchase or subscription costs) until January 2006. As hundred of kids too young to have a credit card rush to play, we have to wonder if the game will finally live up to its name. Developers of Pandemonium Online and Bedlam Online rushed to change their business model when they read this:

"Now you can experience Anarchy Online totally free of charge. You don't pay for the software. You don't pay any subscription.
The offer includes the original Anarchy Online. Our Expansion Packs, Shadowlands, Alien Invasion and Notum Wars are not included in this offer."

Go here if you'd like to read the rest of the announcement.
