1UP is reporting that GameStop has started the slimming down of the company after the merger with EBGames. Philadelphia appears to be the first city affected with 700 people losing their jobs. We asked Michael Douglas if he would mind dressing up like his character in "Falling Down" and going on a rampage through Philadelphia to help the EB employees, but he only had this to say:
" Though certainly unfortunate to the many employees losing their jobs,
it's no surprise GameStop's taking these steps so quickly after the
merger's approval. "Other than stores in Greater Philadelphia and West Chester, we will have no presence there," Chris Olivera, a spokesman for GameStop, told the publication. "
