Thar be a New MMO!

Closing

After assuring me there was no treasure to be had, we set sail on the “Pink Dwarf” (yes I named the boat) and to my delight, the high seas aren’t empty. We soon encountered an enemy ship and I screamed “Raise the Jolly Roger!” The player who owns the ship will remain the pilot of it, but their crew can man the cannons, which was demonstrated. You can load up grapeshot, chain shot, and anything else that fits your fancy to hurt your foes. After sufficiently damaging the opposing ship, grapple hooks were fired and the ship was boarded. A brief melee battle ensued which we won (because they had me screaming “Yarrrr!”) and we commandeered the HMS Winky!

Get your mind out of the
gutter! This is a Disney
game!

The final thing I was shown is a little hard to describe. The boat suddenly stopped and large…purple…tentacles grabbed a hold of it. I stifled back open laughter as cannon were fired to free the ship. This is a Disney game, it’s not made in Japan. I thought I had maintained my composure until a tentacle reached down and grabbed the character. I screamed “Arrr where be that tentacle poking him matey?!?” but I received nothing but puzzled looks.

Overall I think Pirates of the Carribean was built with a family oriented theme in mind, reminiscent of well…everything they do. The pirate theme is a big seller, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wanted to try it. If you’re looking for an unusual themed MMO with a safe, fun environment, this very well could be what you are looking for. Now if you’ll excuse me, someone be owing me a plank walkin’.
