Tyren has posted the following about rogues on the forums:

Redoing this sticky, since the other one seemed to ramble on in many different directions. Again, I encourage posts to be relevant, and follow the guidelines posted here.

Again, please don't make suggestions about how to make rogues more powerful. Rogues are already one of the most popular, and most versatile classes in the game, I think we can all agree to that. The goal is to see what is not working as intended and to fix those.

To start, the most popular concerns seem to be:

1. Vanish not properly functioning in certain situations (though it does work very well a majority of the time)

2. Combo points not always being registered. (I believe this has been fixed on the test realms)

3. Lack of usefulness in high end raids such as Onyxia and Molten Core.

4. Lack of usablity of the dagger/ambush/backstab build (this is getting a big boost in the next content patch)

5. Poisons disappearing after entering/exiting instances.

6. Thrown weapon balance vs. bows/guns.

7. Eviscerate consuming 35 energy on a miss rather than using up less like other abilities.

8. Eviscerate damage output not as powerful as it could be?

9. Increase power of rogue DOTs (rupture, garrote)?

And as always well-thought out and reasonably presented arguments are most welcome. :)

[Update]
I'm not really seeing any really new radical ideas so I'm going to focus on these 9 points, and we'll go from there. Thanks for all the contributions to the list.

Please note these are not finalized fixes, just issues the developers are looking into.
