Rumours about the move of WoW to a console format have been around for a while. Someone finally talked to Blizzard about it and here is what was said:

WoW On Consoles? Not Yet
Blizzard still unsure about ridiculously popular MMO's future.

There's no doubt Sony and Microsoft have been eyeing Blizzard's unmitigated success with World of Warcraft, secretly attempting to sway the developer in their direction for a console version. So far, though, it doesn't appear to be working.
Speaking to CNN\Money columnist Chris Morris, Blizzard says it'll be some time before their universe becomes a part of the console movement. "While there is an interest [from console makers] and while that sounds cool to us, we're not going down that road at this time," said Paul Sams, vice president of business operations at Blizzard.
