Despite rumours about a move to the console format it looks like all the console players that were holding out hope for a console based WoW client, will have to break down and buy a PC. The following news article shows that Blizzard is not putting any development efforts into a WoW on console version anytime soon.

Developer resists interest to lure franchise to new platforms

Blizzard has confirmed that it has no immediate plans to bring its insanely popular and dangerously addictive PC-only MMORPG, World of Warcraft, to consoles.

Paul Sams, Blizzard's vice president of business operations, explained that despite interest from the major platform holders, the company isn't ready to expand its franchise beyond the reach of PC gamers.
