Pocket Guide - Decursive 2.0

Updated Fri, Feb 29, 2008 by Xerin

Before you jump with glee, no there isn’t a version of Decursive working for WoW 2.0. It’s been disabled and until further notice it’s gone for good. However, there is a “new” more efficient way to remove debuffs from members of your raid! Not only that, this method also works for any spell and can make casting debuffs onto enemies easier as well!

There is a new function in the macro system. It’s known as “[target=mouseover]”. This function, when combined with the /cast command will cast a spell on whoever you have your mouse hovering over. So, if someone in your raid has a debuff you can simply hover over their name and press the macro eliminating an entire click from the process.

You may say one click isn’t enough to go through the trouble of making macros but that isn’t true. When you have to debuff the raid removing one click can make it a lot easier and macros are easy to set-up (see our macro guide for details).

A small note, target=mouseover works with any instant spell in the game. This means Shamans can hover over an enemy and cast purge (effectively removing tons of buffs) and you can also place instant healing spells in it as well, saving you a ton of clicks when it comes to raid healing!

If your group of rag tag adventurers are still having difficulty getting rid of those nasty debuffs, then take the advice of the “pros”. Okay, not really pros, but still good advice. Assign each person who removes those nasty ailments a group. They should cleanse only that group. Make sure some people cover more then one group so that if someone falls they can move in (but make sure each group had at least one dedicated person removing the debuffs).

The macro works as follows:

/cast [target=mouseover] SPELL

So, for instance, a Paladin would use

/cast [target=mouseover] Cleanse

This would cast cleanse on whoever that Paladin has their mouse hovering over (either their avatars on their names in the raid lisiting).

Hey, to make this even cooler, why not check out this Ace driven U.I. mod called “Grid”?

To get things started, here are some example macros to use! Enjoy:

Druid:

/cast [target=mouseover] Remove Curse
/cast [target=mouseover] Cure Poison
/cast [target=mouseover] Abolish Poison
/cast [target=mouseover] Renew

Paladin:

/cast [target=mouseover] Cleanse

Priest:

/cast [target=mouseover] Dispel Magic
/cast [target=mouseover] Abolish Disease
/cast [target=mouseover] Cure Disease

Shaman:

/cast [target=mouseover] Cure Disease
/cast [target=mouseover] Cure Poison

Hunter (Easy Hunter's Mark):

/cast [target=mouseover] Hunter's Mark

I finally got myself a Razor Naga (Molten Edition)!

About a year ago, I really wanted a naga mouse for my birthday. However, my girlfriend goes to BestBuy and the jerk working there tells her that I wouldn't like the naga because its too hard to push the buttons on the side. He told her to get me the World of Warcraft mouse (Cataclysm Edition).
