Love is in the Air

Love is in the Air!

"Something is in the air in the major cities of Azeroth. Some call it love, and some just call it friendship and admiration. Whichever it is, many guards and townsfolks now spend their days giving and receiving tokens and gifts to other amorous citizens.

The more skeptical, however, are suspicious of the strange "love sickness" clouding the hearts of so many. Will this widespread occurrence be simply taken as a recent outbreak of amore? Or will our brave adventurers find a sinister plot behind the source of this plague of passion? Only time will tell... "

Love is in the Air is the World of Warcraft version of Valentine's Day. It starts out February 10, and runs through February 15th. Featuring a lot of Valentine-related quests and items, this is an event to spend with someone you like, or love!

To begin this event, you may go to an Innkeeper with a heart ontop of them and buy Love Tokens and either Cologne or Perfume. (Cologne if you want to give tokens to female guards, and Perfume if you want to give tokens to male guards).

Once you talk to a guard after you used Cologne or Perfume, you will be able to give them a Love Token in exchange for an item - it will be either a Pledge of Admiration, or a Pledge of Friendship. Admiration happens if you don't have the debuff "Adored" on you, otherwise, you will receive "Friendship" pledges.

Sometimes, you will be given a Broken Heart debuff, preventing you from doing this once more in an hour. It may be cured if a player uses an Unbestowed Friendship Bracelet on you, however.

Pledge of Adoration

Box of Chocolates

Buttermilk Delight - Increases Defense Rating by 20

Dark Desire - Increases Hit Rating by 20

Sweet Surprise - Increases Healing by 44

Very Berry Ice Cream - Increases Spell Damage by 23

Bag of Candies - different candies with the player's name on it - may be given to other players!

Handful of Rose Petals - using this on other players will make them be showered by Rose Petals!

Love Rocket - Shoots a heart-shaped firework into the air

Romantic Picnic Basket - Sets up a picnic basket in the ground, when players sit by it, they will receive a buff called Romantic Picnic.

Silver Shafted Arrow - Shoots it at the player and summons a small Peddlefeet to follow them around as a pet for a small while.

Unbestowed Friendship Bracelet - removes Heartbroken status from others

Truesilver Shafted Arrow - Summons Peddlefeet who will follow you around.

Love Fool - A target dummy

Pledge of Friendship

When you receive Pledges of Friendship, you will find a card or a pledge of loyalty from the city's guard if you got it from a guard, or trade goods if you got them from the vendors. Once you collect 5 cards, 5 pledges and 5 trade goods, you may combine them into a gift collection from the city you obtained them from. It is important that they all belong to the same city's NPCs before you attempt this.

Completing this collection yields different benefits depending where you did it,

Stormwind, Undercity: +30 intellect for 30 minutes

Orgrimmar, Darnassus: +30 agility for 30 minutes

Ironforge, Thunderbluff: +30 Stamina for 30 minutes

If you collect Gift Collections from every major city you may make them into a Horde Gift Collection or Alliance Gift Collection, which you may turn in to Kwee Q. Peddlefeet near your faction's leader, giving you a large package with many of the items from the Gift of Adoration, and the possibility of having your Faction leader have cupid around giving buffs to players!

Questlines

There are 2 quests you may also pursue, we will go over them, covering the Alliance's first, then the Horde's.

Alliance Quest - Dearest Colara,

You may pick this quest up from any of the 3 different cities. Tormek Stoneriver, from the Bank in Ironforge, Lieutenant Jocryn Heldric, near the Stormwind Auction House, or Aldric Fourclouds from the Darnassus Bank. You may only accept it from one of these NPCs as they all lead you to Colara Dean in Stormwind, near the Bank.

Dangerous Love

Aristan Mottar near the Bank will ask you to get a Stormwind Guard's Card. Then you must give both a Cologne and a Perfume Bottle to Morgan Pestle. He will give you a Box of Chocolates and Rosepetals for this step.

Afterwards, he will ask you to talk to Innkeeper Allison. She will tell you to talk to Evert Sorisam, at the Finest Thread shop in Stormwind's Canals.

He will then ask you to visit Apothecary Staffron Lerent, who's behind the Ravenholdt Manor in Hillsbrad Foothills - to get here, follow the path through the mountains and behind the manor. Once you talk to him, he will give you a reward which will be a choice of Valentine's Suits or Dresses!

Horde Quest - Dearest Elenia,

You may pick this quest up from any of the 3 different cities. Orok Deathbane, near the Orgrimmar bank, Temma of the Wells, from Thunderbluff, or Deathguard Tor, outside the Undercity. You may only accept it from one of these NPCs as they all lead you to Elenia Haydon at the Undercity, near the Bank.

Fenstad's Hunch

Fenstad Argyle, near the Bank, will give you this quest after you complete Dearest Elenia. He will ask you to give 1 Perfume Bottle and 1 Cologne Bottle to Apothecary Zinge in the Undercity.

Tracing the Source

He will ask you to go talk to the Innkeeper at the Undercity, who will then direct you to Mara Rennick in the Mage Quarter. She will then send you to Apothecary Staffron Lerent, who's behind the Ravenholdt Manor in Hillsbrad Foothills. Refer to the Alliance Guide to see exact directions on how to get to him!

Upon talking to Staffron, he will give you a choice between different Valentine's Suits or Dresses.
