NextGen is reporting that Cindy Armstrong, former VP for Business Development at Sony Online Entertainment, has been confirmed as the new CEO for Webzen America.

Armstrong added, "Joining Webzen America as the company is on the verge of becoming a powerhouse online games company in this market is an exciting and incredible opportunity." The new CEO has 15 years of online entertainment experience with companies including SOE, Nintendo and Activision.

But given the divergent cultural expectations of MMOs on different sides of the globe (the more competitive east vs. the more cooperative west), Armstrong has plenty of work cut out for her.
