The Isle of Quel'Danas was the Sunwell's resting place before it got defiled by Prince Arthas in order to revive Kel'Thuzad into a Lich. Thought gone forever, it has now been reactivated by Prince Kael'thas's loyal minions and has been prepared as the landing point for the Demon Lord Kil'jaeden should he be allowed to do so. It is now up to the players to stop Prince Kael'thas's ambitions and defeat Kil'jaeden before he materializes into this world.
The isle of Quel'Danas has been opened for all players wishing to join Shattrath City's final assault on the Sunwell. This event was added recently with Patch 2.4, and it has a handful of objectives the server as a whole must complete before opening the entire island for Daily Quest endeavors.
This undertaking is divided into 4 phases, each having their own Daily Quests that aid in unlocking the next phase on the attack on Quel'danas Isle. Before going into specifics about the Quests themselves, it is important that it is known how to reach the Isle of Quel'danas.
You will probably notice a lot of new NPC's in Shattrath City, all with their own new Quests and demands, but one of them in each tier, be it Aldor or Scryer, will demand that you report in to Azeroth immediately, in order to help the Shattered Sun Offensive and their assault on the Isle of Quel'danas. To do this, simply go to any city in the Eastern Kingdoms, and talk to a Flight Master - the way to the Isle of Quel'danas, as well as its Flight Point, is already known to you. Simply click on Quel'danas at the upper right corner of the map and you will be taken there to get started on your quests.
The Isle of Quel'danas is very big, and will allow for a lot of quests to be completed once it is fully unlocked by the players. Depending on your server, it may be going from Phase 2 or 3 by this point, or perhaps already completed their goal and unlocked all Daily Quests in the zone. Newcomers to the Island will be greeted with an Instance Quest, as well as 2 primary Daily Quests that need completion.
- Instance Quest: The Magister's Terrace
The "main" questline begins here, and it has you go into the Magister's Terrace, the newest 5-man, to locate a spy sent inside - this quest will follow up to the defeat of Prince Kael'thas, Final Boss of the 5-man zone, and unlocking that instance's Heroic Mode version for its optimal loot. This quest is obtained from the Blood Elves inside the boat at the Harbor.
- Quest: Erratic Behavior
At the Shattered Sun Staging Area, which is the little area just outside the docks, you will notice this Quest available, along with other two. It turns out that the Arcane Sentries of the Island are malfunctioning, and you must help the offensive reclaim their control over them in order to secure the area. To do this, you will be given an Attuned Crystal Core. Next, you will run out to the shorelines and find 5 malfunctioning sentries, they will be neutral to you, but you must attack them and defeat them. They use a Silencing Attack, but otherwise, should not prove too difficult for your level 70. Once they die, use your Attuned Crystal on them in order to zap them back to life and complete your objective.
Sadly, it is not possible to zap other people's sentries should they leave their corpses around - they must be killed by you or your party in order to work. 150 reputation and 9 gold is your reward for this Quest.
Upon completing this Quest, it becomes a daily quest with the name "Further Conversions", same objectives apply.
- Quest: The Sanctum Wards
At the very same building, you will be asked for another Quest, this one asking you to kill Wretched that are in the nearby woods a few feet away from the Questgiver, in order to get Mana Remnants from them. Once you have obtained 4, head on over to any of the Crystals near the building and use these Remnants to complete your quest. Fast and easy 9 gold and 150 more reputation with the Shattered Sun Offensive!
Upon completing this Quest, it becomes a daily quest with the name "Arm the Wards!"
- Quest: The Missing Magistrix
This is a one-time only quest that will take you to Hellfire Peninsula, at the Throne of Kil'jaeden. To do so, you must walk to the portal guarded by Demons near the Armory area, and use the Scroll provided to you in the Quest. This will teleport you to Hellfire Peninsula, and you will meet Magistrix Seyla there... she will have two quests for you.
- Quest: Blood for Blood
Magistrix Seyla will ask of you to kill the Demons in the area for their Fel Blood, and then use said Fel Blood using a crystal she provides you on one of the demonic Blood Elves in the Area. These demonic Blood Elves are level 70-72 elite, but as soon as you use Seyla's Crystal on them they will be drained of their powers and turned into easy to kill Wretched!
Killing 4 of these will complete this quest for you and net you 11 gold and 5 Marks of Sargeras, or 5 Sunfury Signets, as well as 250 reputation with the Shattered Sun Offensive
- Quest: Blast the Gateway
Seyla will also ask of you to destroy the Legion's gateway near her, with the aid of her elemental fire. She will give you an item called Sizzling Ember, and this you must use in order to summon a small non-combat follower called Living Fire.
You must kill the nearby Fire Elementals in order to power up the Living Fire so that it can bomb the transporter. You may also stand near an already-tapped Fire Elemental and still get a charge from it, so there's no need to fight over spawns, just follow players around and be careful of the elite Blood Elves and Doom Lord Kazzak himself.
Why the caution? Because should you die, you will lose your Living Fire charges and have to start from 0 once more. Once you have assembled 8 charges, your Living Fire will be glowing green. Bring it back to the transporter and it will make it explode, completing your Quest!
This quest nets you 4 gold and a Shattered Sun Supplies bag. This bag may contain green or blue items, as well as possibly a Badge of Justice if you're lucky!
