If you haven't found your way into the world of Internet Relay Chat, now is a great time to start. A lot of MMO players particularly the Guild Wars PvP communityuse IRC as a means of connecting, socializing, and organizing.
As for IRC etiquette, well, it varies from place to place. With all of them, I suggest "idling" or lurking for awhile to get a sense of the community before you jump in. The Guild Wars community isn't always very nice to "newbies," so be braced for some nastiness if you start peppering inhabitants with questions. Usually, there will be a few people who are happy to help new comers (me, for one!) but don't take it personally if someone hollers something mean about your lack of omniscience. That's just IRC for you.
