In video gaming, there are few intellectual properties as notorious as Star Trek. Few games have ever truly succeeded to capture the spirit of Star Trek, yet thousands of gamers are waiting for a company to do just that. With Cryptic's recent unveiling of Star Trek Online, should gamers be excited? Ten Ton Hammer's guest columnist, Chris "Spare" Higgins, explores that very notion in his editorial "Make It So." Star Trek Online should also have robust space combat and exploration systems. I think this would be the most critical system because almost everything happens in space. However there should be a rich ground combat element where players can beam down and really get into some visceral combat sequences.
