As many of you know, Mythic Entertainment has secured the rights to create the Warhammer Online game for Games Workshop. As you also know, I, the wonderfully amazing Ratboy, am the Community Manager for the TenTonHammer Warhammer Online Community Site. It is my job to bring the TenTonHammer community the best information on Warhammer Online, and our interview at E3 should enlighten all of you.

Having been involved in the Warhammer community for the past eight years of my life, I have been following it longer then I have been involved in the MMO industry. While Billy and Jane were off getting their first hit of “EverCrack”, I was off enjoying the calm miniature games produced by Games Workshop. Now here I am several years later being asked to be Community Manager for the Warhammer Online MMO site… how could I resist!?
There was not a lot of content released before I went into the interview, and I was intent on exploring the basics of the game and let Mythic answer all my burning Warhammer Online questions. With questions as broad as “how will PvP work” to specific questions about things as specific as the artwork, I was eager to get answers to nearly everything!
Since I enjoy being early to most of my meetings, I came only a scant thirty minutes early to my interview. Because no one was available to take an interview from us, Messiah and I positioned ourselves in one of Mythic’s quaint little meeting rooms where we sat in front of a TV directly connected to one of the demo computers. That’s right, Mythic had a demo of Warhammer Online at its booth, and it had the game fully playable!

As Messiah and I drooled over how impressive the game (which is currently still in development) was, we were greeted by Jason Dawdy; the Product Quality Manager for Mythic. I poked at him to post in our forums (because at TenTonHammer we are not only jerks, but shameless ones to boot) and was told that if there were any problems with the game, I could blame Jason at a later point, a fact I am sure I will make him regret!
Our little meeting with Jason was interrupted by the entrance of Sanya Weathers; the Community Relations Director for Mythic. Sanya took us into a meeting room and we were introduced to her “minion” and given a quick look into what will be the Online World of Warhammer. The interview itself started with a brief exchange of our mutual knowledge on Warhammer, and then the skipping of about 5 slides worth of Warhammer background as we were already well versed.
