Activision Blizzard could develop Grand Theft Azeroth!

In yesterday's Goldman Sachs Communacopia investor conference (think stuffy guys trying to be hip and really understand video games), CEO of Activision Blizzard Robert Kotick relayed news that the recently formed gaming mega-company is running smoothly and that the mother ship Vivendi may increase it's stake in the company. As an aside, Kotick discussed the company's interest in doing business with Rockstar Games (of Grand Theft Auto fame). Rockstar is currently in discussions with Take-Two Interactive but that deal could go a million different ways.

Quote of the show was apparently from Kotich, "The switch from solitary experience to social experience is really a catalyst for new customers." So what we need apparently is a Rockstar MMO. The Parents Against Fun and Goodness brigade is frothing at the mouth already, I'm sure. Follow the links from The Hollywood Reporter, and realize yet again that the gaming industry really is just an extension of Hollywood.
