Amidst the launch of their first expansion, Mines of Moria, Turbine is also launching their game Lord of the Rings Online in China next year. It's clear that Turbine has had no shortfall of success, despite not reaching World of Warcraft numbers.

Jeffrey Steefel, head guy for Lord of the Rings Online over at Turbine, hopes that this trend will continue with the coveted Chinese market.

"I would argue that if we could successfully launch LotRO in China, we will probably be the second western game to be viably successful in Asia," Steefel told Videogaming247. The developer also discussed the challenges behind launching an American-made MMORPG in countries like China. "It's taken a while for them to get used to our games and for us to learn a little bit more about what they like to do," Steefel explained, adding, "I think it's like anything else: Everybody's going to be rushing to do it. The people that have been working on it and planning it for a long time are much more likely to succeed."

Here's to hoping it all goes well.
