Rumors are swirling at the moment that the final 1.0 version of Home, Sony's proposed social networking software for their PS3, will be released to closed beta testers tomorrow. We here at Ten Ton Hammer realize Home is much closer to Second Life than World of Warcraft, but we've been following it all the same because of what it could mean for console MMOs. Sony knows the importance of that too, which is probably why they've been trying to take so much time with this. If Sony can't make this work on their own systems, who else is going to want to try?

The rumors are currently based off of a supposedly leaked memo.

“1.0 will arrive in the closed beta this Thursday November 20th and will entail a downtime starting in the morning. On Friday we will send out our first batch of invitations to new testers to help load-test 1.0 and the new servers that are coming online in the next week or so.

“We have two further batches of invitations scheduled for the following week and overall we'll be inviting a huge number of people into the closed beta in SCEE territories.”
