Warhammer rakes in the awards for 2008.

The list of accolades for Warhammer Online continue to roll in as the media outlets compile their "Best of 2008" awards. The latest to add WAR to the roster of greats are:

GameFocus which voted WAR the Best MMO/Expansion of 2008; runners up include Lord of the Rings Online: The Mines of Moria, World of Warcraft: The Wrath of the Lich King and Everquest 2: The Shadow Odyssey

and

G4 that calls calls WAR the Best MMO of 2008; nominees included Age of Conan and WoW's Wrath of the Lich King.

In a very competitive year for launching MMOs, WAR seems to be collecting a lion's share of the trophies announced so far. The other games came out late in the year (AoC excepted) so it's always hard to tell how much the late-launchers are penalized. Regardless, WAR continues to do well with incredible community involvement and worthy of all the praise it is receiving. This year Paul Barnett won't be getting coal in his stocking, he'll be getting trophies.
