GameTap Introduces Thanks4Giving

Sick of console launch stories that read like a zombie b-movie script?

Not all gamers are out to make a buck on Ebay, and GameTap, publishers of Myth Online: URU Live, and the new "Thanks4Giving" initiative seek to reward giving gamers who donate to charities with a free month of GameTap and maybe even a retail copy of a game or two.

Thanks4Giving is an on-line fundraising event that combines video games and philanthropy. Powered by, Thanks4Giving enables gamers to pledge dollar amounts to one of three major children’s charities in return for one free month of GameTap and premier game titles from

Thanks4Giving starts today and goes through December 24, 2006. Gamers can go to to make a donation of $20 or more to any of the designated charities and they will receive four free weeks of GameTap, a great holiday stocking stuffer for anyone.
