Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine Online Launches Open Beta

Posted Tue, Dec 30, 2008 by Sardu

Today Aeria Games announced the open beta for Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine Online.  Already popular Japan, the game will join Aeria's growing list of free-to-play titles, and will offer optional items that can be purchased through the game's online store.

Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine Online  is the first MMO game in the franchise's 20 year history which includes such popular titles as Digitial Devil Saga and the recently released Persona 4. In Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine Online Players fight alongside friends and demon allies to restore order in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo. The game features a real-time battle system, advanced character customization with modern and traditional Tokyo fashion, and demon fusing - the process of fusing multiple demons together to form powerful new breeds. Most importantly, new social aspects that can be found only in the MMO game are introduced. Players can find new friends by using built-in search functions that filter community members by pre-determined criteria.

As a fan of Persona 4, I'm certainly curious to see how the franchise will translate into MMOG form.  To find out more details on the game and sign up for the open beta, be sure to visit the official site!

Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine Online also makes an appearance on Ralsu's Top Ten Free-to-Play Games this week, so if you haven't already done so, be sure to check it out!
