The "Rivervale" Zone Guide

Guide By: Savanja

Introduction

Rivervale was formerly the glorious home of the halflings, long abandoned by it's inhabitants. There hasn't been a whole lot said about what happened to this merry place, but be sure than when you enter Rivervale, you will not find happy little people crafting Jum Jum pie!

What you will find is a nice sized zone fraught with danger and fun for groups and soloers, levels 35 - 45. You won't want to try to utilize this zone too much earlier than your mid 30s, staying in the Enchanted Lands for those easier levels will be much safer. The solo player might also want to think about staying in the Enchanted Lands as well. Rivervale, while having some solo content, is clearly targeting players in grouping situations as the vast amount of mobs are of the heroic variety.

Connecting Zones

Rivervale is reached through the Enchanted Lands, across a bridge northeast of the docks. Within Rivervale you will find a heroic zone called The Tower of the Drafling (loc -478, 23, 43) for level 40ish groups.

Quests

If you are spending some time in Rivervale, there are a few quests you will definitely want to get done. The nightblood Lore and Legend is an excellent one to work on while playing in this zone. It can sometimes take a while to get all of the drops, so plan on killing tons of these. You'll also want to get a few of those language quests out of the way, so keep an eye out for the drops for "Tapping the Torrent" for the nightblood and lamia language, or "The Patchwork Tapestry" for the bixies in Drafling Tower. And while you are running around in zone, keep an eye out for the sparkling "?". Rivervale does have a collection quest for coins!

The most notable quest in this zone is the heritage quest "By Hook or By...". This quest starts with Rukir Pineleaf (-806, -6, -276) in Rivervale. You used to need The Tower of the Drafling access quest, but it looks as though this was one of the access quests removed in a previous update. You will need to be level 40 to be able to start this HQ.

Quests are a great way to pass the time, and get away from the grind while you make experience, so if you see them, take them!

Where to Hunt

Level 30-35 - Starting out, up front is the best place to be. Right inside the door you will find solo hounds, corrupted halflings, and blightrats.

Level 35-36 - Further east, both groups and soloers will find hills of dryads. The solos are kept pretty close to the heroics, so watch your step if you are on your own. Adventure off to the west of the entrance, and you will find a well populated area of blightrats in both the heroic and solo variety. As with the dryads, these are mixed in together, so take care of what you are pulling.

Level 37-38 - Across the bridges you will find an assortment of lamias, scarecrows, more dryads, and darkflight fairies. These are all mostly heroic so I wouldn't venture out this far without some friends.

Level 39-42 - Out on the southeastern part of the zone, you will find more darkflights and treants. The back end of this zone is primarily heroic content and makes for great grouping. The northeaster part of Rivervale is packed with nightbloods and lamias, and I highly recommend this area for grouping. Just keep an eye out for re-pops as the population is rather thick through here and it is easy to get caught between all the mobs.

Level 43-45 - Solo, there isn't a whole lot in zone for this level range, but for groups, hit The Tower of the Drafling! Make your way down the halls and slay everything in sight. This hive is a lot of fun and has plenty to keep a group occupied for a good little bit, so enjoy.

I hope you enjoyed our walk through of Rivervale. If you have any questions, comments, or additions please feel free to send them my way.
