The Evil otherwise known as the Random Number Generator!

So. I'm poor. Like all the time. I've rarely got a lot of money on me. And when I do, I spend it on silly stuff like spell upgrades and all. Lately, gold sellers have been blanket /telling everyone and their dog. But, even as poor as I always am, I am never tempted.

A couple of weeks ago I tried dressing friends up like little dolls and making them sing showtunes. This didn't work out nearly so well as I had hoped. Point of interest, men don't like to do high kicks.

So, I sat myself down and said to myself. Self! What exactly is the cause of my lack of liquidity. I, of course, blame it on lack of loot. The mysterious and infamous RNG. The Random Number Generator. It sees all, it controls all. The RNG is the driving force behind whether or not you get the rare, or that uber rare Master I you can charge twenty plat for on the broker.

Except... I never win. I don't win the little cash loots either. Well, once in a blue moon when everyone else has full bags and can't take it. Then I win. But only by default. And I don't get the good rares either. I'll have flowers, and stones, and teeth out the WAZOO. But just LET me try and get like a moonstone or something else good? Yeah. Right. The RNG laughs at my weak attempts to gain wealth. It mocks me from afar as it gives yet another rare to a group member who ganked the node out from under me.

It's truly the spawn of Satan.

I'm bemoaning this to one of the most wonderful men ever to walk the earth. Oh woe is me, I say. The RNG hates me. This wonderful man laughs and says to me that I'm daft and no it doesn't. Well of COURSE he's going to say that. It's kind to him. He's always got money. He's so rolling in it that the other day, he was bored and bought me four... FOUR Master level spells for my character. * boggle *

Have I mentioned that he's like, a god. Seriously.

He goes on to explain to me that it really and truly isn't the RNG that is my problem. I said he was wonderful, I didn't say he was sane. But I listened anyway. It seems that my darling one's wealth hasn't been gained through the good graces of the loot system. No, he sells stuff. Not just any stuff. But shinie gained stuffs.

I spent an hour or so this evening running around his special shinie gathering mecca. All my gleanings are now on the broker as I await proof that he was right. I'm sure that he was, he almost always is. But still, it doesn't hurt to check.

And of COURSE I'm not going to tell you WHERE. Then everyone (okay, the whole four people who actually read the drivel I write) would go there and all my shinies would be fondled and defiled by other people. I think not!

Anyway, having wreaked my havoc upon the world (did you know there are trapped shinies? You harvest them and NASTY things come beat you up. * nod *), I'm off to bed. Wish me luck with my latest money making scheme!
